Discover the pleasure of working with clay at our Islington and Highgate studios, where creativity, learning and good company come together in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Whether you’re completely new to pottery, looking for a mindful break from a busy week, keen to learn a new skill or ready to develop your making, our programme has something for every level. Start with a 2-hour Taster Session on the wheel or try your hand at hand-building. For a deeper introduction, our 5-week Beginners’ Wheel Throwing courses and Introduction to Pottery Techniques course are a great way to begin your pottery journey.
New from 9 October, join us at Islington on Friday evenings for a relaxed BYOB creative session. Choose to work with clay or explore pottery painting, and enjoy an evening of making, creativity and good company.
For those looking for a more immersive experience, our One-Day Wheel Throwing courses run on Sundays at Islington, giving you a full day to get to grips with the wheel, practise your technique and make your own pots.

Wheel Throwing Courses
Clay Time's popular beginners' course that will instruct you in the basics of throwing on the potter's wheel.

Introduction to pottery techniques course
A great all rounder course for the beginners or all skill levels. Pinch, coil, slab build and have a go on the potter's wheel.

An intensive whole day pottery throwing course for beginners, it teaches you the basics of wheel throwing in one day.

A good course to follow the beginners wheel throwing if you feel ready to move up, learn throwing taller and to shape your pots.

Clay Time offers a unique opportunity for children to experience wheel throwing on a potter's wheel . Our studio provides a fun environment for children to be creative, and parents or guardians can book themselves in and join in on the fun too!

After school children course
A fantastic way to introduce children to the world of ceramics in a fun and inspiring environment. Children will explore different hand-building methods to create a variety of unique pieces. Some projects will be completed in one session, while others will develop over two sessions, giving kids a real sense of progress and achievement.

🎁 A great selection of home made pots for sale
We have been working on pots formed around pebbles the last two seasons, we made nice shallow plates. Also deep bowls pebble shaped and large ones too . Now we joined two half pebbles together making them into vases which are very organic and unique , these will be a great Christmas presents , please ask when you come to our studios if you don't see them on sale. You can get them at a reasonable price in the studio and will cost more at the Christmas markers from November onwards. Look and pick some favourites before they disappear in the Christmas rush . All locally made using 100% renewable energy.
