Improvers' Throwing Course (5 weeks)

This course will help you to improve on your basic throwning skills. Working to throw taller cylinders, shaping your pots through collaring and bellying out, and trimming down the bases to accentuate the overall shape. If you know how to throw a simple cylinder and have done a beginner's course then this course is for you. Minimum requirement is to have completed a 5 weeks beginner's course.

This course will build on what you have learned in our beginner's throwing course or any wheel beginner's course that you've been on. We will work with you at your level and improve your throwing abilities. You can choose 6 of your best pots to be fired. All material, tuition, glazing, paints and firings are included​.

Maximum 8 Places are available.

Week 1 – concentrating on straight sided cyclinders with even walls.

Week 2 – throwing taller and narrower vessels

Week 3 – shaping through collaring in and bellying out
Week 4 – trimming the bases and creating an even foot

Week 5 – glazing your final pots with a range of  glazes

You can reschedule your class provided we are given at least 7 days notice before the class
