Hand-made Tableware Course (4 weeks)
This is a great intoduction to pottery for beginners. It allows you to sample pottery techniques whilst making practical table ware comprising of:
Relax with clay and your favourite Friday night tipple. A fun and rewarding way to start learning pottery. You will use pinching ,slab building and moulds in this course. Slip decorate, sgrafitto, carve and design your set. There will be a total of 4 classes over 4 weeks. 8 places available in total.
Course 231 – 28th February – 20th March, Fridays, 7–9 pm (Book now)
This is inclusive of all material, glazing and firing.
The course outline
Week 1 – Start by pinching your way to a pasta or fruit large bowl, then prepare the slabs for the two mugs for next session.
Week 2 – Attach slabs, finish mug 1 and 2 , attach handle and refine. Finish pinch pot, refine and add foot.
Week 3 – Plate making, one side and one dinner plate. Use mould/templates.
Week 4 – Tidy plate edges, slip deoration,carve textures and designs.
